AI in dating, explained honestly

Dating profile review services: 5 options, human and AI

·5 mins

Friends are bad profile reviewers. They know you, so they read your bio in your voice and see your photos through years of context. Strangers on a dating app have none of that, which is why a second opinion from people (or software) who don’t know you is useful.

The options split into three types: crowds of strangers rating your photos, professionals who rewrite your profile, and AI tools that critique it instantly. Here are five, including one that’s already inside an app you may use.

Which kind of review do you need?

“Which photo should go first?” A crowd vote answers this best, because it measures first impressions from people who don’t know you.

“My bio is bland and I don’t know why.” AI critique is fast and cheap. A human writer is slower and expensive but works from an interview.

“I want someone to just do it.” That’s a writing service, not a review.

How these five were picked

Each option had to be live and open to U.S. adults on 2026-11-06, publish what it does and what it costs (or be free), and cover photos, text or both. They are ordered from cheapest to most expensive. No service was tested, and no scores are given.

1. Hinge Prompt Feedback (built in, free)

If you’re on Hinge, the cheapest review is already there. Prompt Feedback uses AI, guided by Hinge’s behavioral researchers, to rate up to three of your prompt answers as “Great Answer,” “Try a Small Change” or “Go a Little Deeper.” It’s private and shows up when you review your profile.

Good for: spotting one-word or cliché answers. Limits: text only, Hinge only, and it won’t suggest wording, by design.

Bumble has a similar built-in: AI feedback on your bio and prompts, plus optional photo tips you request with a “Get feedback” button. Bumble says the photo feature is still being tested (checked 2026-11-06).

2. Photofeeler (free, or paid credits)

Photofeeler is the long-running crowd option. You upload a photo, choose a category (dating, business or social), and other users vote on traits. For dating, that means smart, trustworthy and attractive. Its FAQ says it’s free if you vote on other people’s photos to earn feedback, and that you can buy credits for faster results.

Privacy: your photo is visible to other Photofeeler users only while a test runs, then it goes private again. The FAQ says photos don’t appear in search engines and that Photofeeler doesn’t sell user data. Price: credit prices weren’t listed on a public page; couldn’t confirm. Limits: it rates photos one at a time, so it can’t tell you whether your set works together.

3. YourMove AI Profile Review (AI)

YourMove AI offers an AI profile review alongside its bio writer and texting tools. You upload your current profile and get feedback on photos and text.

Price: sold inside its apps. The YourMove AI Keyboard app lists Premium at $4.99 weekly or $49.99 a year, and its second app lists items from $12.99 to $79.99 (App Store prices, durations mostly not labeled, checked 2026-11-06). Limits: the review is a doorway into a larger suite, including AI photos. Treat upsells with care.

4. ROAST (AI plus expert review)

ROAST pitches itself as “honest, not nice.” It analyzes your current photos, bio and prompts, produces a prioritized fix list, and can generate AI dating photos. The site says the analysis combines AI with expert review and claims 724,000-plus users.

Price: the site’s comparison table lists ROAST at $39 a month. Its iPhone app lists Weekly $9.99, Monthly $29.99 and coin top-ups from $9.99 to $99.99 (App Store prices, checked 2026-11-06). Limits: the AI photo side raises the usual questions about whether generated photos still look like you. Its App Store listing was updated 2026-10-08 and had few ratings.

5. ProfileHelper (human writers)

ProfileHelper is the opposite of everything above: human writers only. Its site states it will never use AI to write your profile. Packages listed on 2026-11-06:

Package Price What’s included
Basic Profile Creation $99.95 Questionnaire, new profile formatted for your chosen site
Premium Profile Creation $199.95 60-minute consultation, site recommendation, two headlines
VIP with founder Eric Resnick $400.00 90 to 120 minute coaching session, profile within 48 hours, unlimited revisions
Platinum Concierge $1,000.00 VIP plus two more coaching hours and text access

It also offers a free 10-minute phone consultation.

Limits: it’s a rewrite, not a review. You get someone else’s version of your voice, which you then have to live up to on dates.

Red flags in any review service

  • Guaranteed match or date numbers. Nobody controls who likes you back.
  • Pressure to buy AI-generated photos as the fix for everything.
  • Vague refund terms, or none at all.
  • No clear statement on what happens to your photos after the review.
  • Advice to misstate your age, height or location. Every major app bans misrepresentation.

A free review you can run yourself

Before paying anyone, try a structured self-check with a general chatbot. Ask it to critique, not rewrite:

Act as a blunt dating profile reviewer. Below is a bio and three
prompt answers. List the three weakest lines and explain why each
one is weak. Do not rewrite anything.
[paste text only, no photos of other people]

More prompts like this are in using ChatGPT for your dating profile. If crowd photo rating is your main need, Photofeeler alternatives goes deeper on that one job.
