Useful messages include:
- an app’s AI feature launched, changed or quietly disappeared (please link the announcement or help page);
- a tool changed its pricing or photo policy;
- a factual error in an article;
- press questions;
- sponsorship inquiries, after a look at the write for us page.
Scams and deepfakes
The journal can’t investigate a profile, trace a scammer or take images down. If someone used generated photos, video or voice to deceive or extort you:
- Stop sending money, and don’t pay anyone who is threatening you.
- Report it to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov and to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- Report the profile inside the dating app, and save screenshots of the profile and messages before you block anyone.
- If you’re in immediate danger, call 911. If you’re thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988.
Treat any “recovery” service that offers to get money back for a fee with suspicion; it’s a common follow-up scam.
Please don’t attach
Intimate images or a scammer’s material aren’t needed as evidence here. A short description and links are enough. Keep the originals somewhere safe in case police or the platform ask for them.
