An AI headshot generator trains a small image model on selfies you upload, then renders you in studio lighting, different outfits and plain backdrops. The output is aimed at LinkedIn and company pages, but plenty of people use one result as the clean face shot their dating profile is missing.
The field is crowded and the pricing pages love strike-through discounts. This comparison sticks to what each company published on 2026-11-06: price, number of photos, turnaround, refund conditions and what happens to your uploads.
How the seven were chosen
All seven were live, sold to U.S. customers, trained on the buyer’s own photos and published prices or a starting price. They are ordered by pricing model: one-time packages first, then the subscription option. Within that, the order reflects how much each company discloses up front. Nothing here was tested or scored on image quality.

1. HeadshotPro
HeadshotPro is the most transparent on its pricing page. One-time packages, no subscription. Basic ($29) delivers 30 headshots in about two hours with six photo credits for edits. Professional ($39) gives 50 in about 30 minutes, 26 credits and a free redo within 60 days. Executive ($59) gives 70 in about 15 minutes, 46 credits, 4K resolution and both vertical and horizontal formats.
Best fit: anyone who wants a predictable one-off purchase with a redo safety net.
2. Aragon AI
Aragon lists three packages: Basic at $35 for 40 headshots with one outfit and background, Standard at $45 for 60, and Executive at $75 for 100 with enhanced resolution. Its refund policy offers a free redo or full refund when photos don’t represent you, but counts downloading as using the product. Aragon says it is SOC 2 Type II certified and lets you delete your account and data from your dashboard.
Best fit: people who want a dating-style set too; Aragon also runs a separate casual dating-photo generator.
3. StudioShot
StudioShot prices by “style.” Essential gives one style and 40 images in under three hours with two free retouches. Pro doubles that to two styles, 80 images and four retouches. Signature gives three styles, 120 images and six retouches in under an hour. All three were shown at a discount on 2026-11-06, and the site advertises a 100% money-back guarantee. The company claims 42,000-plus customers.
Best fit: people who want free retouches built into the price.
4. BetterPic
BetterPic starts at $35 for 4K headshots with multiple outfits and backgrounds. Its pricing page is unusually specific about the fine print: refunds within seven days only if model training hasn’t started, $10 to regenerate from your existing upload, $8 per manual edit request. It says uploads train only your model, can be deleted on request, and that you get a full commercial license.
Best fit: buyers who care about ownership and deletion terms.
5. Secta Labs
Secta Labs sells a Professional Plan at $49, shown as half off $99, with a no-questions-asked 30-day money-back guarantee. The page lists 90-plus styles but gives two different photo counts (100+ and 200+), so check what you receive at checkout.
Best fit: people who want a long refund window.
6. Try It On AI
Try It On AI is built around one input selfie rather than a batch, and claims more than 3 million users. Its homepage says pricing starts at $17 with no subscription. The site’s pricing page returned an error on 2026-11-06, and full package details couldn’t be confirmed without signing up.
Best fit: people who only have one or two good selfies. Check likeness carefully; one photo gives the model less to learn from.
7. Photo AI
Photo AI is a subscription studio rather than a headshot package: $19, $49, $99 or $199 a month, with yearly discounts. Each personal model you train comes with sets of free auto-generated photos, including professional headshots and dating app photos, on paid tiers above Starter. The Starter tier is labeled “low likeness” on the pricing page.
Best fit: people who want ongoing image generation, not a one-time set. Cancel when finished.
What to check before paying
Likeness. The whole point is that it looks like you. Most refund policies hinge on this, but several end once you download, so preview everything first.
Upload rules. Most tools ask for varied selfies: different angles, lighting and backgrounds, no sunglasses or heavy filters. Poor uploads are a common reason refunds are refused.
Deletion. Look for a clear statement that your uploads and trained model can be deleted. BetterPic and Aragon both state this on their pages.
Auto-renewal. Photo AI and some app-store versions of these tools bill on a schedule. A one-time package avoids surprises.
Using a headshot on a dating profile
A crisp, neutral portrait can be a good first or second photo. A whole profile of studio headshots looks like a résumé and says nothing about your life. Dating apps also have rules: Hinge bans AI-generated content used to mislead, Bumble bans edits so heavy you can’t be recognized, and Grindr bans AI images passed off as real photos of you (all checked 2026-11-06).
The dating-specific tools and each app’s rules are covered in AI photo generators for dating profiles. Whether an AI portrait counts as catfishing is argued out in using AI photos on dating apps. And before you commit to a first photo, a second opinion from real people helps; dating profile review services compares the options.
